The power of the 2016 Wrangler is a far cry from the original Willys model. The Willys original military model produced 60 hp and 105 ft/lbs. of torque. The 2016 Wrangler is exponentially more powerful. The 3.6L V6 boasts 289hp and an outstanding 260 ft/lbs. of torque. Yet the Wrangler can still obtain a respectable 17 mpg city and 23 mpg highway. The owner has the option of a 6 speed manual overdrive transmission or a 5 speed overdrive automatic with the manual shifting capabilities. Jeep’s Rock-Trac and Command-Trac suspension systems are designed to provide excellent traction control. Rock-Trac provides an ultra low gearing ratio for negotiating off road terrain with Command-Trac provides torque to all four wheels independently.

The Jeep Wrangler comes standard with four bucket seats. The rear seats can be folded down or removed for extra cargo capacity. The owner has a choice of a removable soft top option or removable hard top option. Both allow the owner to take in the open air experience beloved by so many Jeep owners. Because Jeep knows its owners will get a little mud while having fun, the flooring can be hosed clean, with drain holes provided.

The Wrangler hasn’t forgotten infotainment as a part of its driving experience. The Wrangler owner can enjoy an Alpine Premium sound system with nine speakers; include two 6.5 inch rear woofers. As a part of the sound system, the Wrangler comes equipped with:

  • Audio inputs
  • Mp3 ready Radio 130 with CD player
  • Bluetooth capable with USB ports and power outlets
  •  Safety

To keep electronic devices and other valuables secure, a lockable console is positioned between the driver and front passenger seats. Sentry Key® antitheft engine will stall the engine if a non valid key is used. A remote system opens the back latch and doors from more than 40 feet away. Safety Remains the Key with the Wrangler Because the Wrangler has more rough terrain capabilities than a normal vehicle, Jeep has made handling as safe as possible. This is why the Wrangler is equipped with:

  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC) to monitor over and under steering, using automatic braking and throttle control to keep the vehicle level
  • Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM) to sense the possibility of a vehicle rollover and automatically applies braking power to avoid it
  • All-Speed Traction Control
  • Four-Wheel Disc Antilock Brake System (ABS)
